Fair Haven Yoga IS Your Family OM

Fair Haven Yoga was created as a place where everyone, indiscriminate of age, race, color, religion, or sex, could feel comfortable to come and safely explore their yoga practice.

We want our students to know that this is a statement we take seriously, so we’ve chosen to further explain our definition of safety and comfort as it pertains to our students here at Fair Haven Yoga.

Your Safety is a Top Priority

Yoga can be both powerful and effective at its best. However, when practiced without adherence to safety standards, problems can result. Our classes are clearly described with levels delineated so you can determine the class (es) that are right for you. We also offer counseling to review your level as well as class choice.

In order to ensure this safe practice is carried over into the classroom, all of our teachers carefully supervise students. All of them are trained to offer modification and prop support as needed.

Your Comfort and Teacher Codes of Conduct

We recognize the importance of emotional safety for all our students. Some come to us in a particularly vulnerable state searching for a “safe haven”. We want you to know that whether you are new to yoga or new to our studio, we welcome you to our om with unconditional acceptance, honest and positive feedback, and a warm, inviting atmosphere.

All of our teachers are given and must adhere to a strict Code of Conduct as outlined by the Yoga Alliance.

As a student of Fair Haven Yoga, your comfort and safety is our top priority. If at any time there is something or someone that, in your opinion, is jeopardizing your comfort or safety (or that of another students), we urge you to bring it to our attention. We feel blessed to have so many students who come to FHY and share their practices with us every day. Each one of you are a valuable part of our family, and we hope to provide all you need to continue to develop your practice.
